I pulled out a metric nuts and bolts our of my drawers that where the right size, and welded the nutts on so I just used a metric wrench.

Me too , for rear end -- maybe the same hex for trans ?

For the rear end and the manual tranny you'll need 14 mm and 17 mm. That's a great idea using the bolt heads
