White faced guages
I've read the few threads for switching to white faced guage's on here but they are rather old. Has anyone done this modification recently? Just wondering if there is an up to date method for what guage face and procedure to use. If I read the threads correctly, finding a wrecked MB SLK 320 dash provides the white faces needed. Am I correct or is there another model that can be used and is interchangeable? If anyone has one of these, let me know.
Yesterday, I had a very hard time reading the black faced guage with the sun coming in the front and side window. White faced guage's would look nice and be easier to read.
Any opinions and suggestion for making the swap are welcome.

Hi Jim I did this back in the summer it is very easy I watched a video on youtube . You must sand off the green color on the face back of the gauge panel. It is very thin and delicate you must take your time. I did the multi color dash lights so I can change them to many different colors. You must do this carefully with a fine wet dry sand paper watch the video I did it you can to. Just type in youtube change gauge face color in crossfire. I cant remember the exact video tho. Best of luck to u
I think you want all white gauge faces which were done by JHM2K.

180 - Your right. While his modification looks nice and probably is easier to read than the original's, I want the face's white. I've looked at several MB SLK320 gauge clusters on ebay and amazon. What I'm wondering is if the gauge face can be removed and placed on my gauge cluster, assuming I can remove the black face's on my gauges. If I use the MB gauge cluster, in tact, I inherit the mileage of the donor car. If I just change faces, I can keep my correct mileage. Does that sound correct to you? I did get a reply from, I think it's called "Momar", in Poland. They have a nice set of white faces for $89.00, but I'm just not real crazy about the looks. I would prefer something a little more conventional.
Your thought's are welcomed.

180 - I made a mistake on the name of the company in Poland. It's correct name is "Moman". Look up Moman gauges on the web, if you haven't already looked, and see if they show the Crossfire set they make.
