do you remember the day you got your xf?
when was it? date? how it happened? pics? tell us all you want. how you felt. this is the place!
i can tell you about mine:
1st of all, the date: perhaps some dont remember it. but for me, it was so easy that i couldnt forget it. even all of you will remember it: it was the 4th of july! (2019)
i was searching for a replacement of my nice automatic transmission car (ford fusion), preferably manual, for it is the way i feel i have more control of the car.
searching in the internet for cars nearby, happened to show 1 xf. i had seen some rarely and always considered the most beautiful car, but never had the chance to see 1 parked-and the price was about what i was aiming! i couldnt believe my eyes. anyway, managed to go and see it in detail, and was able to sit on the drivers seat, and even test drive it! the deal didnt materialize, but found another 1 nearby that fulfilled my needs and got it. i had been searching for data and found a lot at this forum, so it made my decision easier. the sun was shinning, my son drove me in, and when i was taking pictures, the dealer took a picture of me and my son.

now is your turn!

I was racing a PT Cruiser very few mods exhaust, amx1397 hard pipes tune, and 100 shot of nitrus PT was running 12.70 @ 105 it was time to change as i could do very little more to it sold it in 2005, a friend had rented a crossfire and said why don't u buy a crossfire,I didn't think much about it then in 2008, on ebay was a srt6 black for $18000 i called (dealer) left $5000 for him to hold it. that Friday my son and i went to Gainesville, for the first time ever i sat in and drove a crossfire , it had 18000+ miles on it ,I said to self $1.00 per mile ,,ok , did the paper work and drove south, well almost,, as we intered palm beach county, i told my son i was going to stop at the track. he said he was going on home,, I got to the track around 6pm, and ran the car a few times with the best being 12.05 @ 110 with no mods what so ever. got the car home and started to build a intake, over the next year or so got all the mods i could for the V6 car was running in the low 12.'s ,,went to a dyno meet saw a V8 mercedes and ask will that motor fit into my car,, in 2010 Rudy and installed a SL55 engine and tranny into my crossfire this car was running 10.55 in the 1/4 mile ,,,in 2018 sold ir ,,got a gunnetal gray srt6 Rudy and myself installed the V8 5.5 supercharged form a 2005 E55 and transmission, so far with very few mods the var runs 11.5 @ 117 without dragradials .
I picked it up (07 SE) at the dealership and drove a few miles to get on the turnpike on my way to work. I gunned it to see what it could do. Seconds into that, just past a bridge embankment, I saw a state trooper car on the side of the road.
I quickly braked, and noticed he was actually trying to get the radar gun up and into position. He did not follow me.
I was thinking to myself I was very luck. I laughed to myself that would be embarrasing to tell anyone that in less than 7 minutes ownership I received a speeding ticket.
Google: "A compilation of stats from various law enforcement bureaus finds red cars get more tickets than any other color... except white. But white cars are much more common than red so, roughly corrected for prevalence, red seems to take the cake as a ticket magnet. Apr 22, 2018"
