Default May have lost my mod. testing spot

On the north end of the little town I grew up in, (7 blocks long & 7 blocks wide) there are two bridge's with just a little over a 1/4 mile between them. Back when I was in my teens we measured off a 1/4 mile and painted a line across the road, people's been racing there before I was even born. There are two house's on the north side of the farthest bridge with a big gravel lot in front of them that would hold 5 semi - tractor trailers, that's where we alway's turned around to line up on the south side of that bridge to run back toward town. Well this past Friday I went there with my car, turned around in the big gravel lot, drove to the middle of the bridge, done a burn out, set my G-Tech meter and launched off the south end of the bridge. I done this two times, then I was turning back around on the first block in town to go back and make one more run. I was just starting to nose up to the highway and a little red late 80's model Mazda come skidding across in front of me blocking me in. I was freaking out wondering what the hell was going on, he jumped out of his car, come running to my driver's door and I buzzed down the window. He said what the hell do you think you're doing. I explained to him I was testing out my car and that people have been running their car's out there between those bridge's for 50 year's. He then told me that he was not going to put up with me out there revving my car up, it was upsetting his dogs. He looked like some tweeked out meth head that would probably kick my door in if I said anything he didn't like, so I just said I'm sorry I upset your dog's. He told me that he better not catch me doing that again, turned around and walked back to his car. When he got in his car he raised up a pistol in a holster, shook it a couple time's and nodded at me. I went ahead home and called a county cop that I know that live's there and asked who the nut case was that lived in the house on the other end of the bridge's. I told him the whole story, he was off duty and had me call the county police and file a report. When I talked to the officer on duty I told him what I had been doing and what happened, he said he would go to the house's and find out if he had a permit for the gun and if it was in his car. I told the officer that if he wanted to meet me in town, I would go out there and do a big burnout on the bridge to flush him out and he could just stop him when he came chasing me into town, he got a kick out of that and laughed. I hope the guy got his a$$ throwed in the slammer.

Sunday morning I came thru there in my truck, stopped on the highway right in front of that house and tried to light'em up. I got the tire's spinning, but as soon as they heated up they gripped the road and I couldn't get them to really light up. My truck just has a 195 HP 4.3 engine in it.

Some people just can't appreciate progress. That's the exact reason I don't carry a gun. I wouldn't of hesitated putting a full clip in him after he showed his gun. You never show a gun unless you are prepared to use it. Oh well be glad he didn't unload it on you first. At least you know where he lives. Good thing he doesn't live in the hood', he wouldn't last a week. Off the subject, on the few runs you did get in, what did you run on your meter for the 1/4. I mentioned on another post that you were one of the first with a pulley kit and ecu tune from renntech, but never seen a time posted. Also do you have a CAI installed?

The two runs that I did get in were 12.3 & 12.4 in the 115's. I installed a SL55 "Y" & hose's a few weeks ago and was running about the same. This past weekend I pulled the intake pipe's out of the radiator support done a bunch of work, got them opened up to a 2&1/4" ID. That's why I was there doing some run's to see if it helped, it was only 38 degree's out, I don't know if being that cold would help or hurt. My previous best before the "Y" job was 12.6 in the 112's, I got some pic's of what I done to open up the intake tube's, but the site has not been pic loading friendly the past two day's. BTW, I'll be doing burn out's in the highway every time I go thru there from now on no matter what I'm driving. If the weather is half way good this weekend there's going to be a very loud and fast 64.5 Mustang doing some burnouts on that bridge.

Whoa Steve, watch out for that dude.
What's going on with the Xfire drivers? You had a gun waved at you, nox1s had some windows busted out.
Sheesh.
Maybe we need to get a 'rep' going that we are all grizzly, burly and rough & tough. We could get jackets with skulls on them and stuff.

I know to watch out for him now, I just want to pi$$ him off as much as possible for making me have to put my tail between my legs and scamper off. If I'd had known what was going down when he block me in, I'd have backed up and got out and away from my car. Really the only reason I didn't tell him where to get off was I was worried of what he would do to my car.

Those are great times and great weather. You need to hit the track and be the first in the 11's. It's out there with stock tires. Good Luck.

I was really hoping that the intake tube mod. I did would put me in the 11's on my G-tech. All of the launches I've done have been just flooring it with the TC on. With some launch practice I could probably get there. Some people say a G-tech will give you lower #'s and other say higher #'s than at the track. I've ran two times on it and hit in the 11's, but I've wrote it off as a mistake on the meter.

I don't have anything with a 30 round clip, all I have is a Stainless Rosewood PPK 380 with a 6 round clip, but I have 2 clips. It looks like 007's gun and sounds like a canon. You don't have to hit anything with it, the noise will run about anybody off.

"People" are know as the most dangerous games due to their unpredictability. This guy could either A.) Try to frighten you with a pistol (which is stupid anyway) just to make a point about the noise, or B.) Not try to frighten you, but warn you that I will put some rounds down range if you keep it up.

DO NOT TAKE THIS THE WRONG WAY ANYONE!!! I know that if someone brandished a weapon to me, I would respond with force in kind. You're lucky it wasn't escalated, and don't try to pi$$ him off in case he is cut from the latter cloth.

This is why there's street vs. strip. 1.) being safety and 2.) security against events like this.

I'm sure all of us know of places to run th pi$$ out of our machines without any problems, but is it legal or even considerate of others??? Probably not, kinda like all the ricers with their fart cans out there. Don't be like them, be better than them.

You want to borrow my AK or AR...either way you really can't go wrong! I guarantee he'll be the one running with his tail between his legs!

I was just joking about putting rounds into his car. I respect other people's stuff, I'm normally a "do un to others as you would have them do un to you". My car is not very loud and the tire's really don't squall, plus I wasn't in front of his house. His dogs were barking & that's what dogs do, he had no right to do what he did. I do believe he is a tweeked out meth head that just didn't have his fix yet that day. This place I'm doing these runs is probably one of the safest place's on the road to short run a car, even the county cop that I've known all my life said "if your going to do it that's the best place around".
