I think that you need a paint that stays flexible, James1549 wrote a post on this matter. He painted them with a normal paint but the paint cracked.

Would spraying them with a plastic adhesion promoter help? Isn't that almost the same thing as adding the "flex" additive when painting a plastic bumper?

When I re-painted the radio ***** in my 2007 Coupe, that is what I did. I sprayed initially a coat of adhesion promoter since ***** were plastic. Then I applied a coat of silver paint. ***** look great!
