Looking at Two Crossfires Today
On my way to check out two cars One is an '06 Blue Limited with 70K miles and one owner. He has several cars he is trying to sell and is asking $7K to move it this weekend. Private owner, seems knowledgeable. It was his Mom's car and she gave it to him. All I know is that the the car shows great in pics and he says everything works, new tires, had the oil changed last week.
The other car is an '04 Limited with 33,700 miles and asking 12,800 at a dealer. Looks super clean in the photos. Grey with grey leather interior.
Assuming they are both clean and in good shape...I'm thinking the prices are fair, what say you all?
If they both drive well...is there anything I can check on the spot that may be vital? Obviously, I'm concerned about the electronics, burning oil or anything else mechanical I can see with the naked eye.
Thanks in advance, will keep you posted.

In my opinion...a '06 COUP with 70,000 miles in good condition would be worth about $5000. A Roadster (convertible) with same miles might be $7000. The '04 (with lower miles) 33,000 miles would only increase the value by about $1000. Auto or manual transmission doesn't really effect pricing. Some may prefer one over the other but I don't think it effects pricing. This is just my opinion.

$12,800? For that I would want an SRT6 with less than 60,000 miles on it and I good shape. In fact I would be almost tempted to let you have mine and it has less than 40,000 miles on it.
Go for the blue at $6,000 if it is good shape, look under the hood for cleanliness and no oil leaks.

like others said look for oil leaking out of the valve covers, obviously any lights on the dash. Tbh you will have somethings come up a sensor here a gasket there but the car is a beauty inside and out. I love driving my car just like the day I bought it. This forum will give you every answer you will ever need to fix, repair, or modify.
You cannot pull the foam out of the trunk as it trapped by the rear trunk liner. Slide a piece of paper down the side of the foam on the passenger side and see if there is any water to be found.
Assuming you visit and inspect the 2006 with a OCR while asking questions (and not getting answers) regarding leveraging the 5 fixes (that are so well documented here)......I.would consider offering the private owner 5,500. The mileage should not be a red flag.
the dealer is asking way too much.
the money you keep in your pocket can easily pay for the next 2 or 3 years of enjoyment. And just around the corner is enjoyment.
