Default I need a new shift ****! Cannot find

Sorry if this is a commonly asked problem. I've tried searching these forums for replacing my 6 speed manual shift **** for my 2006 Limited Crossfire but can't find anything in here about successful replacements.

My current shift **** is broken. Unrepairable. I've looked tirelessly for just an OEM replacement on ebay and other sites but cannot find one.

I'm thinking my best course of action is to get a universal shift **** but I'm sure it may be pointless since our ***** require you to lift up on the **** for reverse.

So I'm wondering if anyone out there has been successful with any universal shift ***** and if so, which one should I be looking at to use. Basically my current OEM shift **** is broken to the point that whenever I want to put it in reverse, the entire **** just slips off. I've also thrown it into 2nd gear before and it slide off while driving. It freaks me out a little when that happens so I just have to be more careful about going into 2nd but ya. I need to replace it. Any help or advice is appreciated!

I didn't see any manual shift ***** on EBAY, but this Chrysler Parts site appears to have one, based upon the illustration. I would definitely call them to confirm that it is truly a standard shift ****.
You may also contact LKQ.com, they are a national used parts house.
Good Luck.....

If you are the only one driving the car that certainly is an option.

As I reluctantly have to hand over my keys to a mechanic for annual safety and emissions inspections I want to make sure they understand where the gears are, especially our special pull up and back reverse gear.

You would think maybe you could leave instructions on the seat. Well I did so with jacking instructions for my Charger at warehouse store when they were installing new tires. From the waiting room I saw they ignored the front jack points and were going with the usual/common pinch weld area. Had to go out and say a few words. I'm concerned about that because another location folded over the pinch welds on a long gone Dodge Caravan many years ago.

Manual shift ***** have been out of stock at dealers for many years. It's not uncommon for some dealer websites to not accurately reflect inventory. It's possible there could be one or more squirred away at a dealership.

I guess you are correct on the safety aspect.
My wife worked at a dealership and the shop foreman took a car that was in for service out for a trip around the block to check for some reported squeak. Unfortunately the mechanic had drained the oil and was going to refill it when he came back from lunch. Oops!

If you want to get extra fancy, this one has a lit pattern (and I believe it effectively shortens the shifter as well)

So Tascaparts.com shows the part number shown above as being discontinued.

The shift ***** are back under a new part number. Found on ebay and other sites. However, many sites say this part number is also discontinued.
e again.

This part is available and not discontinued but costs almost 300 before shipping and tax.

Guys
Please review my response in Link#2 (with the attachment), it's just the shift **** @ $55 vs. the entire shift mechanism @ $300+. BTW, why hasn't the original poster responded to our responses? Kind of odd!
Just my 2 cents....

DITTO..... OP, is the stem damaged in any way? I believe it'll be a helluva lot cheaper if all you need is the 'ball'...

OTOH, the OP may have taken a few sedatives if he has to spend hundreds (IMHO)... LOL
