Replacement Hatch Glass
Tragically this morning the rear hatch glass shattered on the Crossfire. Looking advice from anyone here in the forums on how to go about find a replacment. I started with the local bodyshop, but I imagine this could be difficul to locate. Please help!
Have you tried SAFELITE Glass? They are a national company, so they may have the rear glass at one of their locations.
You may also find one at a Junk Yard....
Good Luck,
Dennis

Safelite's online system claims they can have the rear glass installed in a week. Hopefull but skeptical. Will go with eBay for a plan B, but it seems like all the Crossfire parts are in the midwest, and local pickup only.
I'd try Safeglass or Safelite first as they are the experts and have resources we don't necessarily have. But if they don't have a solution, eBay has tons of replacement windows available.
I had to have the tint replaced on my rear hatch back in 2019 and it worried me that the tint shop would do something to damage the rear glass, especially since they asked me to leave the car. Said they needed time in a lot of cases when they were dealing with rear defroster grids in the glass. But they ended up calling me within an hour to say the car was ready to pick up.

I had placed few things in the rear hatch area, and slammed the lid. One of the items (a new front hood strut) was extended, and it broke through the glass. Idiotic move on my part. I was sure nobody would have a replacement and was shocked when safelite said they had it in stock.
We've all had things like that happen to us. I once had the hood up & had raised both wiper arms to do something. Without even thinking, when I finished whatever I was doing, I closed the hood w/o lowering the wiper arms. Bent both of them all to hell. Had to order replacements.
Back then, I ordered replacements from an online parts vendor that listed the Crossfire wiper arms. Parts Mgr called me next day & told me was going to order the M-B parts which were identical but almost 30% less. Considered myself coming out 'smelling like a rose'.
So I'm a little curious what caused your rear glass to shatter?

Rock Auto sells replacement struts. The ones on my SRT6 were not holding up that heavy wing and it cost <$30 to replace both. Pro tip: When re-installing the struts do not completely remove the little clips over the pivot ball(s). Use a small screw driver to pry them so they are loose but still over the ball, then slide the ball over the pivot pin and push the clip home. If you totally remove the clip, it is a pita to install with the pivot in position.
