Got a ticket "ever heard of this one?"

Well at about 1 in the morning on my way home from work I did a stupid thing, no one was around and it was nice and quite so i decided to have a little fun a do a quick punch from 0-40 in the srt. it was from a stop sign, and you guessed it the city police were right around the corner when i did it and i saw the lights right after i let off. This was not on a residential street btw train tracks run parallel to the road with a couple small shops on the other side that were closed obviously. I shake my head at my own stupidity, after a 15 minute wait he comes back with a ticket improper start from a stopped position. Tried to find this on line and all i could find was improper start from a parked position. Wonder if the cop wrote it wrong? and for the life of me i couldn't think why he was where he was anyways, when it struck me the local tavern around the corner was about to close and I think this guy was planning on catching some patrons after the bar let out. =P

All the names of the "citations" listed in this thread are bullcrap IMO. How are you endangering anyone with the rate of your acceleration? Maybe if you do a large burnout, but what difference does it make how fast you get to the posted limit?

I had no idea that they could ticket you for that !!
I make a regular habit of achieving the speed limit with authority, and not slowing down for turns. I thought that was how you got to play with your sports car without breaking the speed limit. If they start doing BS tickets like that here in western NC, I might as well trade in my XF for a Prius.

Yeah, I do that all the time. That's how I always accelerate, plus I generally go 20+ at least. The joke of this country is that I'm a much better driver than at least 80% of the people I see driving and I'm the one who's gonna get a ticket when I see people driving HORRIBLY while going the speed limit.
