painted pioneer DEH-P6000UB (faceplate and trimring) tell me what you think.

Nice job. I was gonna do that to my Alpine but I went the black Carbon Fiber dash route....so now it matches.

glad you like it. paint is testors #1146 silver argemt. bought at a local hobby shop. used an air brush for application, but is also available in a spray can.

faceplate is held together with four screws ln the back. remove screws and faceplate snaps apart.very little masking is necesary when its painted this way

well MikeR, changing your head unit would absolutely wakeup the rest of the stereo system in your car. browsing your photo gallery tells me a little bit of paint wouldnt slow you up much. I'm impressed. cmz

The bad news is that paint is very soft and does not stand up well to the oil on hands. Good luck with it standing up to usage.

trick is not to paint areas that are normally handled,(buttons,*****,etc.) if in doubt, clear coat cmz

Satin Clear Coat FTW! I've done this before and know the pitfalls. If you put a good quality Clear Coat on top, it will last.
