Default Hello and Question About Spoiler

Hello from WendellMusic in CA. We have a 2005 covertible and really enjoy it.

I have a question about the spoiler. It appears that it is deploying at less than the 64 mph threshold and I have noticed that it is not closing at 32 mph. Anyone had any similar issues?

The obvious questions for you are at what speed does it deploy and when does it close?
A weak battery causes spoiler issues such as it raises on turning the key to on.

Mine goes up at about 57 and down somewhere under 40. A weak battery causes some weird spoiler issues.

I believe factory setting speeds for deployment and cycle down are 58 and 37. Precision and what the actual speed is at the time this happens will likely vary slightly, or at least the perception of it on the speedometer will

Thank you for your responses regarding the spoiler. I replaced the battery today and was concerned that there was another issue with the spoiler.

I noticed that the digital displays such as the odometer and gear indicator are illuminated without the key being in accessory mode. I also can turn the radio on without the key in accessory or on position. Has this always been the case and I just didn't notice?

The digital displays will illuminate when the driver's door is opened.
Always been the case.
Don't know about the radio.

The radio can be turned on without the key in the ignition. It stays on for sixty minutes or until the car senses the battery may get too weak to start the car.

I just recently found out that you can manually lower the spoiler again once your speed drops below whatever speed it went up at... great for waving at nearby cars

Been doing that for quite a while now, but for a different reason : darn thing cuts off half the view out of the rear view mirror on my roadster.
