Default best performance mods?

Ok, I have done a bunch of reading here. I am from the old school and most of the performance work i do is on mopars from the 60's and 70's.
I have a 2004 xfire auto.
I want more power just because it is a disease. And i like mine to be a little better than the next guys.
Bang for the buck is important!
What mods are the best for the money.
I have considered the upsolute reprogram,
I have read about some underdrive pulleys.
Would an intake and cat back help? with the above mods?
What do you guys think?
Thanks

Just what you are thinking is appropriate...exhaust, chip, and K&N air filters? The combo will run you between $1000 and $1500 dollars. You would be looking at about 20-30 hp improvement over stock. For serious power gains (anywhere between 306-330 hp), expect to spend about $10,000 for supercharger kit or a 3.8 liter stroker kit. Another route to serious horsepower would be a fully custom turbo kit, which I might perform if I decide to keep the car. But, as with all serious engine upgrades, other components, such as the drivetrain, suspension, and brakes should be upgraded as well to take full advantage of the extra power. Tuning firms for the Crossfire include Startech and Renntech.

Not quite looking to go the forced induction route, don't get me wrong that would be fun but more $$$ than i could spend.
I think trying to obtain 240-250 hp and stay streetable is realistic just trying to figure out the best route to get there.
Anyone here achieved this yet? How?
I am assuming i should wait to do the reprogram till the other mods are in place.
Anyone try different injectors?
This is not a cheapo car i am sure someone has put some cash in theirs and figured some of this out.
I am just try to avoid some expensive mistakes.
Thanks again for any help.

like I said earlier:
-exhaust...magnaflow, borla, startech, custom (the custom ones could be cheaper than the $650-$800 "name brand" systems)
-chip...powerchip, startech, renntech, upsolute ($250-$1000)
-intake upgrades...K&N, tornado, SASKINS ($100-350)
-pulleys
