As to the mats ... IMO, my XF is so quiet sitting inside that the stereo sounds awesome, and even cranked, windows up it's not that loud outside.
If dynamat is what you are asking is worth the expense, the answer is absolutely. I would suggest using more than a 10"x10" square however. I have the inside of my doors completely covered with dynamat, and only use the Extreme, and the knock off brands DO NOT work as well, as I have used many of them. Dynamat is the BEST for automotive sound deadening materials. This is why you see them cover the interior of the cars on OVERHAULIN. Dynamat does wonders for your sound system.
