Default DIY radio swap - How easy is it

Hi all,
Thinking of swapping my Becker head unit for a shiny new. jvc AVX2
Before I do I have read about required looms and needing to swap wires around.

This leads me to my question...how easy is it? Has anyone managed to damage their car in anyway, blow fuses that give warning lights reason to come on or stop things working?

Anyone else fitted the above stereo already in the xf?

Thanks for any help or tips on this.

Found a pretty good AVX2 review.

Also attached is my lame photoshop of the unit installed.

i would have it if it matched the dash a little nicer; i settled for the JVC 500 mp3 cd player, because it matches the dash just about perfectly, and the illumination color matches the stock gauges.

its easy to swap out. you need a Scosche VW01 wiring adapter and a Metra 40-EU10 antenna adapter... do a search for specifics on how to install it --
