Default Please Help!! Head unit uninstall

I had my Pioneer AVIC installed a little over a year ago and now I need to uninstall just the head unit then reinstall it. I know that sounds crazy but the dealer broke my silver trim trying to replace my A/C control head. So I need to get the radio out myself or wait until next week for the next available opening to have the sound system people do it.
Any help is greatly appreciated!

Remove the face plate and then you should be able to gently pull the trim off with your fingers. It just snaps in place. Two clips on top two on bottom. To remove the radio you will need the release tools that came in the box with your stereo. There about 3-4 inches long. Look kind of like an "L" any installer will have them if you don't have yours.

Thanks, I'll pick up the tool today. Does the bracket come out with the radio? Should I be able to remove the silver trim before I remove the radio? If so I can't... the dealer broke the silver trim into two pieces and from what I see the radio bracket is slightly over lapping the remaining trim piece.

You have to remove the faceplate then the trim around the radio before you can insert the tools to remove the radio. The trim just snaps into place.

The radio you have should be held into its metal can/sleeve by 4 small phillips head screws.
To get to them, remove the face plate, then the trim ring, then you'll see the screws, two on each side, remove them and the radio should slide out of its sleeve.
Then if you need to, you can remove the sleeve by unbending the tabs that hold in.

I saw the four screws, I unscrewed them and nothing comes out. How hard do I have to pull? It doesn't move at all. Could it be screwed in from the back? I'll try again but I'm afraid I may break the head unit. Thanks for all your replies.

Tried again and no luck... when I went to best buy today to pick up the tool I was told the same thing. There's just 4 small screws in the front and then it should slide right out. If anyone has any other ideas please let me know.

I GOT IT! It was just as you said only I messed up. I overlooked a screw that was threaded. It took me almost an hour to get just that one screw out.
Thanks guys! You saved me a lot of time, I love this forum!

Two Questions guys.

1) I ordered the Euro Antenna Adapter (Euro female to Motorola male) and it will not connect into the antenna on the crossfires end. Any suggestions?

2) It also looks like I need a dash kit in order to put my Avic n-1 in the place of the old radio. It looks like it will just go right in. Any suggestions?

Thanks!!!
