Default Woofers?

I know behind the seats there are like 4" oval speakers. I was wondering if it will be possible to mount (2) 8" woofers behind the seats. I figured there is supports in the wall behind the seats that separate the hatch from the cockpit. But is there room inside it to mound bigger speakers? Does anyone have a pic of the side of that compartment?

You might be able to get these to fit in a small box behind the seat but you won't be able to drill or mount anything extra behind there since the gas tank is right behind you.

They are shallow subs (3" deep) and still provide the thump. It won't be as much as a typical cone subwoofer but it makes due for our limited space. I plan on making the trunk flush with 2 of them (almost like a second false floor or take the original floor out and replace it with the box that looks like the floor).

They're reasonably priced and should be a fun project.

The speakers behind the seat are 6 inch subs mounted at an angle. Very tight in there, Would take major work to change speaker size. Don't think you will be able to fit anything behind the seats unless your going to keep your seats way up. Sorry for the bad news, Crossfire is a great car but not much room for changes.

I would like to do this also, but have not yet had time to look for myself at the amount of space. From pictures, I believe that I should be able to fit a pair of 6" JLs in the place of the stock subs. They appear to be roughly the same size. My plan is if they are larger, to build a slightly raised and angled (to avoid contacting the seat) mount out of fiberglass. Hopefully it can be done, but I can not find dimensions for the stock subs so I am unaware of how much space or if i need to make up space for the aftermarket subs. I guess Ill have to wait till it gets warmer and investigate myself.

the stock one are infinity/harmon kardon...i'm pretty picky about my audio sound but i'm pretty satisfied with the stock ones. if you are upgrading wattage, you definitely need new ones.
