Can i add 2 subs and a amp?
I already have 2 new subs, custom box, and an amp. I also want to keep the stock head unit. Does anyone know if I can hook up my extra 2 subs, and my amp to it? I guess the amp will just power the subs, not the other stock speakers. I'm pretty sure its a 1,000W amp.
You are gonna need a Hi level signal to RCA converter (http://cgi.ebay.com/DEI-55020-Speake...QQcmdZViewItem) and you have to get T-Taps and run wires to your stock speaker wiring and tap into them to get a signal to run off of. Its kinda a pain in the A$$.
It is going to be different based on the amplifier and you can compromise the performance of the system based on the approach so here are a few options Best, Better, Good ...
1. Using an Infinity or JBL amplifier you have the benefit of Balanced Differential Inputs which allow you to run your factory amplifier directly into the amp either over RCA or high level inputs. You can also terminate the outputs of the factory amplifier with RCA ends and run them to the amp.
2. go to Becker or other source for the pre-amp line level outputs and feed the amps that way.
3. Go out and purchase some good quality hi-low level converters to convert the amps output to RCA. Note these devices have serious roll off issues at the bottom octaves and upper end so this is a place where generally it pays to spend a bit more if the performance is there.

Newbie question here.
So after getting the RCA converter, what color of wires do I need to attach it with? I'm also gonna be installing 2 amps, so, do I need 2 RCA converters?

Just a recommendation.
I have already installed the wirings based on my prior professional audio install with the limited crossfire model. I have pics on how the install was done and now that I have upgraded to the SRT-6, I want to keep the stock HU and what I'm missing on the install are the output towards the amps.
Now if you can tell me how the RCA converter's gonna be installed, you just saved me $500 bucks!
I will publish pics on the install once it is done. I only have a little bit of car audio experience but as I uninstalled my system from the Limited, I found out it ain't really hard at all contrary to what your installer will tell you! Of course, they want your money!
