I've been watching these on e-bay looks like a great radio and fix's the issue with the cd-changer location. Been waiting for someone that is a audio guru to leave a post.

I'm not a fan of throwing a black-faced unit into all that silver. Now if I were to get the dash in the carbon fiber trim that'd be a different story. I hate to ruin the feng-shui of the interior.

I believe you just need a set of special wrenches that go in the slots at the corners of the stock radio... after you pop that, i believe the radio just pulls right out. I am going to try to install it myself... I installed with a buddy of mine my Pioneer AVIC-D2 6" x 4" touch screen GPS navi... it was a pretty stealthy install... the gps and xm antenna were put in the sun roofs track, so you couldn't even tell that i had xm or gps navi systems in the car.

Wow... i would really appreciate if you can take pictures through out the project and post it here. I believe the GPS need some kinda interfacing with the vehicles speed sensor? And there is an antenna for GPS to be installed under the dash? Are you planning to install a rear view cam? I wish JVC makes a Silver faced one too...

Sure, i'll take pics... yes you usually have to hit a speed sensor wire, If that becomes a problem then i'll just take it to a audio shop. Here is a question, when you have a stock GPS navi from chrysler, i am assuming that the harness that connects to the back of the GPS HU has the speed sensor already hooked into the stock harness...

As for the GPS antenna i will see where i can hide it, i do not want to put it on the exterior of the car.

Should be here on Monday.

Ok, i spoke with some of the people over at best buy, i wanted to pick up a universal harness for when my GPS HU arrives, then this is when a couple of issues came up.

But first i have couple of questions, I have a 2005 SRT6, does the stock audio system come with a amp? If so, it might not be as easy as just using a universal harness to hook everything up. If that is the case, then it will be a little more difficult of a job to get this HU to work with the SRT6, however they said that it would probably only be $100 more in labor and parts if i was to go with Best Buy and have then install it. Which isn't a big deal.

More to come.

Smile Pictures of my JVC KD-NX5000 in Crossfire

Here's 10 Megapixel super high resolution pictures taken of my installation. Navigation, bluetooth, and Sirius all installed successfully. I like the navigation much more than my TomTom.

It was definitely a good investment. I would recommend it to anyone with only a single din slot.

Where did you put the GPS and satellite radio antennas?

If it comes with one like the XM/Sirius units do you can easily place it on top of the car by the hatch then feed it through the panels to hide the wiring until you get by the passenger seats, not too hard and it keeps it clean.

BTW, the pics look great, it's too bad it doesn't come in a silver.

and if you have satellite radio, could you take a picture of the display on any channel...my display only shows the artist or title and not both (kind of annoying).

I put them in the back window, between the metal and the glass. I fed them through the left side grommet.

How was the install? I've put in many regular decks but never ones that have navigation or DVD playback.

SRT6nTulsa, did you have any challenges installing the KD-NX5000? Was the opening in the dash adequate for the unit? Could you take a picture of the antenna location? Did you wire it to the factory amp or run new speaker wire?

I'm preparing to buy my first Crossfire, a 2007 Limited Coupe. I have to replace the deck immediately because I must have Sirius. I'm a huge control freak so I need to make sure I won't have any major hurdles before I take the plunge.

Here's the new location of the SIRIUS and NAV. I even get signal inside my garage.

Just bought a 2005 SRT6 with 118 original miles . Looking to install the JVC KD-NX5000 in the next few weeks and need some answer for a few things.......Where's the VSS located and what does it look like? Will the factory amps in the car work with the Unit?

Thanks

The wire is the pink line off of the Amp.... The amp is located along the foot well on the passenger side of the car.... Top into that for the speed sensor.
