Silver Cd player to match dash?
I'm looking for a new cd player for my 2005 SRT6 that matches the dash as close as possible. Does anyone have a suggestion. I'm not looking for anything real fancy but I don't want a low end one either. I'm also wondering if anyone has any advice on getting an enclosure for maybe a 10" sub or 8" sub that does not steal much of that valuable crossfire trunk room. I know there is a fellow on here selling a $300+ dollar fiberglass box but I am looking for a little cheaper solution.
thanks
thanks
I have the Clarion SD card radio. No CD player. You put your music on an SD card and the faceplate folds down so you can insert the card. The radio is white, but it matches the dash very well. Plus, it has Bluetooth so when you get a call on your Cell phone, the call will come through the speakers in the car. Also has an external mic, which is optional to use. Heres the link....great price too.

As far as the sub enclosure, take a look at my gallery. I was able to remove all of the styrofoam from the rear hatch to make 2 10 inch subs fit perfectly. The hatchback of the car works as the enclosure. I took the deminisions and bought a piece of 1/2 inch plywood. I cut the two holes for the subs, set them in, and then put some grey carpet over the wood. Added the amp in the middle. I was also able to place the factory cover right over the top of the amp and subs so nobody can see it through the rear window. Don't forget to put some Dynomat in the spaces that you removed the styrofoam from. This is needed to remove the vibrations from the sound hitting the metal directly. Feel free to PM me with any questions.

And there are many others. One thing to keep in mind; If the actual control face has enough silver to suit your tastes, they are in general mounted in a bezel that is separate and can be painted and clear-coated by anyone with a finger to push the button on a spraycan! Just make sure to spray paint the bezel BEFORE you mount it in the DIN slot!

Of course, the only silver stereo that I could ever think of gracing the Crossfire's 1-din slot is the Denon DCT-Z1:

Of course, if the Crossfire came with a 2-din, there is always the Panasonic CQ-TX5500:

Clarion's Marine line of indash CD players look well with silver .
Panasonic also has several models that are actually more silver than the pics on the web depict .

I personally use one of the models with just a bit of silver accent . It also allows you to choose any color for the display which is cool . I set mine to a silver look .

The enclosure I use is a Audio Enhancers PB110 . You can see the listing here under the Memphis Audio section .
http://www.audioenhancers.com/catalo..._specific.html
It is very small , sounds great with several brands of speakers (I use the CrossFire brand just for the name ) . I ordered mine uncovered for about $40 and covered it myself with the same black material used in the CrossFire trunk . My Phoniex Gold Ryval amp is bolted behind the left brake light assy out of the way also ( there is a lot of room in those Qtr panels for stuff ) You can see the top of it if you pop out the small access panel .
I own a custom electronics shop and this sounds as good as anything I could have stuck in there . I tried several options before settling on this .
