I went with the Blaupunkt Melbourne SD27. This met all of my requirements: silver face, MP3 player via memory card, audio-in port for my various media players and pre-amp out.

Many people are likely to be turned off by this model because it is not a CD player. This actually attracted me to it because I've scratched so many CDs in my car.

My only complaint about the stock receiver was the dial for switching CD tracks had a mind of its own.
