I have seen a few threads about this alpine radio and it looks good but is it avaliable? Anyone?

 

I thought that model was for boats? Anyway...does it even fit in a crossfire?

 

I think it is but if it fits then it looks like it could be a really good match. Chrysler do 1 thing well, they make it blooming hard to get rid of the stock radio.

 

LOL...no kidding...I'm starting to notice that. Just bought my Xfire in March.
i was trying to get a remote starter installed but I guess they make that hard and expensive as well plus I would have to give up on of my keys (according to Car Toys...a car electronics chain).

 

Still going to be a while for the iDA-X00M.

 

Radio fits fine.... Marine means better components...... the color matches perfect..... it will be available on may 15.... according to Alpines........

Main problem.... Equalizer is bad...... preamp volts is just 2...... but....you know....just me...I'm picky with the quality sound.........

2 volt out is not a problem because it is a clean 2v. That is way better than a distorted (over rated) 4v output (think cheap 500 watt amp vs clean 100 watt amp). If you want more eq, and a really cool one at that check out the pxa-H100

Who do you know at ABT? Somebody in the install bay?

 

My neighbor is an electrician and does high end custom homes/remodels.
He uses them so I had him buy it for me as he gets a discount.
I will ask him how much it is tomorrow and get back to you...
Oh yeah I will ask who it is but since he orders complete home packages from them probably not an install guy.

I am having another neighbor install it for me....hes on the Merc.forums.
So he knows the cars well.

Hmm I like that it is using burr brown op amps. I tore the op amps out of my soundcard on my computer and added some burr browns .. very nice op amps.

$450 is a bit steep but I like the fact that it can play off of a USB hard drive.. I wonder if it'll be able to play lossless audio formats like FLAC and whatnot. I guess that'll be the deal breaker for me. It's awesome that it has such high quality components but honestly what is the point if all it can handle is CD's or compressed audio formats from an ipod or usb drive?

Time will tell I guess..

Yea, deal is dead for me Not about to convert 150gb of FLAC to AAC or WMA. Companies need to start taking advantage of FLAC right meow.

Does anyone know if you can change the light color, I'd rather have green like the rest of our interior components.

 

I think you can change it to red only. I would be happy to change all the bulbs in the car to blue if need be - how would one go about doing this?
