MP3 solution
I'm a Xfire newbie and I have solved a CD storage problem in the limited cockpit of my Crossfire coupe. I found a "drop-in" mp3 solution to the stock Harmon-Becker CD radio. I installed a Blaupunkt Bahamas mp3 disk radio unit with only 2 tiny mods. The connectors were identical to the originals, but I had to buy a Euro to US type antenna adapterfrom Ebay (or Amazon). Also, pin one on the power connector must be disconnected since it is a "phone call mute" signal that is always on mute unless you disconnect it. If you have any experience installing car audio, it will be a piece of cake.

I have not seen it anywhere in the silver color. That was the trade-off, but it was so worth it to me. This unit sounds so much better than the original and a single mp3 disk can play for many hours.
Do all of the Blaupunkt decks use the same connector as what's already used in the Crossfire ?
I wish I could say that they were all the same, but I have seen some Blaupunkts that had the usual pigtail type harness that is found on most other decks. It was important to me not to cut or splice into the factory wiring harness and that's what the value of this unit was to me.
You can probably find a "go-between" adapter for other units but I wanted to keep it simple and keep it as "German" as possible. Recently I have seen some face plates that have a lot of the silver features which would match the console better. I'm going to order one and see how the connectors are configured.
...Stay tuned!
