problem: i dislike a radio i can't hear going 70+ with the windows down
whats the current power dumping from my stock unit ?
what size speakers are my tweets and my door speakers
the two holes behind the seat seem to be 6.5 and very EMPTY has anyone made the 8"

what have others done to make there base cars not suck?

I have thought of two things
simple: new head unit new door/with tweets and two powered 6.5 subs stock holes

2nd thought
new head unit hd,bluetooth,zune hookup tweet and door speakers behind the seats 2 6.5 two way speakers and a 10"in the rear with mono amp for sub and 4 way amp for front stage.

update the base model has the holes for the subs but does not have the shells needed to mount speakers.

if installing an after market head unit i had to use a dremmel to notch holes for tabs of the unit to fit into. ( you can't see it with a radio installed and will still allow the factory head unit to be reinstalled

 

I suggest you look around the section - there's a ton of ideas. Some even have pictures...

 

I am having a single JL 12w6, powered by a JL HD750/1 amp, in a prefab ported box for now and have upgraded to a pioneer 6000 headunit. Just the headunit made a decent improvement. I'm sure I'll post how mine sounds, later. chris
