New System all kenwood
Hi I have taken the plunge and started working on the system in my car. I relocated the centeral locking system and hush matted the whole trunk. I have also installed the kenwood deck and navigation.
This weekend I build the wooden part of my box.
I am planning on making the bottom of it out of fiberglass to mold to the bottom of the car. The local shop that I am friends with is doing the fiberglass for me cheep, I love wood working but man do I hate glass work haha.
My whole system is going to be all kenwood, my deck is the KVT-696 with the add on nav.
,
The door component speekers are KFC-X1730P
I am Amping the door speekers and the subs with two amps
The one is the XR-4S for the doors
The second is the XR-1S for the subs
The subs themselfs are two KFC-XW1000F shallow mount 10"
So what do you guys think of my ideas and plans, everything is Kenwood Excelon so it is all there top of the line stuff

Very nice build so far, but depending on your dimensions for the sub boxes, I would also suggest going with full size subs. I can understand if the boxes are already made for the shallow ones, but if not, go full size and you get much more punch than the shallow ones IMO.
How much higher will the floor be? it looks roughly 2" in your pic. If you relocate that little black box with the foam around it you are easily able to fit a full size 10" in each side. these are the ones I put in my car with the floor raised 2" Clarion Canada | PXW1052 (Outside Dimension 10 3/8" Mounting Depth 5 1/2")
Ohh I was just checking out the specs on you amp and subs, check out the RMS.
Sub - Power range: 50-250 watts RMS @4 ohms
Amp - 600 Watts (RMS) x 1 @ 4ohms
Might want to get a smaller amp or a little more powerful sub. Bigger is not always better.
Just my 2¢

When I started I was planning on having the box level with the floor then I got the idea to raise it up 2" so I can flush mount the amps in the floor too I never went back to see if normal subs would fit in now you are all probably right they most likely fit now thanks for the great ideas. My highs come with crossovers has anyone put crossovers in the doors? Is there room with the airbags? Pics would be great thanks

Just an up date I have the box all made and in and I ordered everything today so it should be all in shortly. Also I got 2 sets of highs I am planning on puting the second set in the back for show
Its almost finished I have a plexiglass peice that goes inbetween the amps and subs that should look pretty cool. I also have a second set of highs that i am planning on mounting in the truck on the carpet over the gas tank. Here are the pics of it so far I did end up going with the shallow mounts but they sound really good

Okay several questions,
1st How did the head unit work with the stock set up? It looks like you used it for awhile before finishing your project.
2nd Can you put anything in the trunk now? I'm assuming you wouldn't want to set anything on the speakers/Amps (I'm a total noob at car audio)
3rd I want to see pics of the rest of your set up.
I've been looking at your head unit.
Oh btw Looks fantastic
