Just Be Carefull The Instructions Are Not As Simple As Sugested You Will Need To Use Connector Color And Location In Service Manual Too

Don.t Get Upset Just A Suggestion Since I Did It With No Wires Supplied

Wasn't upset, the answer you gave wasn't what I needed for the question I thought I asked... Anyway, the additional adapter worked and the nav unit has replaced the original stock cd player. Waiting on the gps antenna (from singapor) the 2 wires from 180 (from canada) and the ipod adaptor (usa I believe) its a worldly car with parts from all over the world... Lol I will let you know of the next group of problems...

GPS antenna and the 2 additonal wires came yesterday... Installed the antenna and it appears to be working (shows correct compass on display) tried to insert the 2 wires into the factory connector but didn't seem to want to fit... Kinda dark last night so I will try in daylight tonight... It wants to bounce between east and west disc... I am near st. Louis which is the line, this unit came from cali and when I ask for POI it wants to go to the west disk...Thanks for any tips, the help speeds up the process

Thanks snake, I stumbled across that a little while ago... Now it finds the local POI... I still need to solder in the reverse and speed wires, I will have some time saturday morning and hopefully that will staighten this last malfunction... It tells me the initial direction but nothing else... Getting close... I really did this for the IPOD set up... Btw, with the usb setup for the ipod deal, do you guys think I could load the GPS disk's into a thumb drive so I don't have to deal with putting the disk in the front cd loader?
Thanks again and in advance

No, I think the Ipod mimics the CD changer, the nav CD has to go into the head unit and it does not work in the changer. Ive been wrong before but ....

I believe Dave is correct on this one. I have the ipod controller solely for the USB facility. I've run both the Nav feature and the CDC feature at the same time, so they work independently of each other. I wouldn't want to give up 2 CD slots on the USB for the Nav feature and it would also render the random track option useless. I think Rudy would have the final answer on this, but don't see how it would be possible?

ok guys, i think i am to the home stretch... finally taking some time to open up the kickplate and install the two wires.... i found a "light green/white wire on the larger connector going into the amp.... matches up with the pic of the instructions (says dark green/white) but i think its right...

now the reverse wire is a different story, says i am looking for gray/yellow, i see a gray, a gray/black... but no gray/yellow i am goung to get a diffderent flash light to see if i can get a better look at it....

thanks

here is a couple pics....
the first is showing the green/white... on one set of instructions (http://www.majormotorshotrods.com/_d...tall.pdf)dated 2005 it says to use this one... i believe this one is correct for my car (2006)

now on one dated 2004 it says another spot in the connector....

on the second pic, i am looking for the mysterious gray/yellow wire.... found gray, gray with black stripe and gray with red stripe.... both sets of instructions say the same thing.... help please.... lol

For the back up signal, go to the trunk and look for the color of wire that goes to the back up lamp. that should be what you want.
The color here is the same color wire you will look for under the passenger side footwell.
