BestBuy.com was pretty useful.. They give you all the dimensions of each head unit. The biggest I found was a kenwood that was 4-7/16" x 7-3/16".

So if you have or want a unit smaller than that you will need to buy one of these universal trim pieces to cover the gap.. They can be easily cut to fit any size you need

Id like to start a list to see who is actually interested in this. It will take alot of work that I am only willing to do if it will be worth it.

Just copy/paste the list and add in your name

1.)
2.)
3.)
4.)
5.)

I'm confused; I would love to have a flush fit double DIN head unit with GPS, NAV, SAT, HD Radio, etc. , and in following this thread it appears to be a lot of work.
So,,, I went to my favorite resource and found these @ Crutchfield: Clarion 2DBKT Mounting Kit Universal double-DIN mounting kit at Crutchfield.com and
Pioneer ADT-VA133 Installation kit for Pioneer double-sized receivers at Crutchfield.com
I've never installed a double DIN unit, but (way way back) when I was in high school, I made a ton of money installing head units and speaker upgrades, and it appears to be straighforward enough, especially when you can get the adapters from them.
I think it was rcompart that stated that the HU needs to be supported, and the Pioneer kit certainly looks capable of doing that much more so than the Clarion bezel.
Any thoughts?

Thx,
KevinL

Not to burst anyone's bubble but I beleive HyperLt has found that this stuff isn't that easy to make so I wouldn't hold my breath on this being made any time in the near future. Hopefully he can perfect his process though so this might happen.

Lol I think we are all educated enough to come up with that assessment ourselves but thanks for stating the obvious!

Welcome aboard, being its your first post, I hate to be the bearer of bad news....

The builder of these 'kits' has not been heard from in months and this was after creating custom side strakes for several members. The members paid up front and either did not recieve their parts or the parts that were recieved were sub-par quality.

Not trying to trash anyone, just giving you the facts.

Maybe you should cut and prep faster and you wouldn't spend 25 hours!!

Just kidding... if you have a 2DIN setup, post pictures! We would love to see it.
