Default Becker Silverstone 2660 CD changer

Ever since obtaining the upgraded radio with navigation I wanted to add the CD changer that was compatible with it. I have finally got my hands on a Becker Silverstone #2660 unit from the German ebay site. I wired it up roughly and all the functions work fine.
Now all I have to do is take out a lot of panels and wire it in permanently with the changer in the trunk.
If you say why not install some fancy modern gizmo that holds a lifetimes supply of music, my answer is I really don't listen to music. I am thankful that the seller left six disks in the changer as I do not have any Cd's at all.
Now I just have to find out how to replace the needle in it.

The following pictures are those that I took installing the CD unit. They show what you can expect to see when you remove the various panels and trim pieces.

I ran the wires under the carpet in the corner under the sill plate. This was easier than running the wires under the passenger seat which I have read is the correct way as there is seemingly a channel for wires there, call me lazy.

The heater vent is removed from the passenger side console kick panel by turning the exposed screw 90 degrees anti-clockwise. This exposes the screw that holds the panel in place.

The opposite kick panel has a plug in it which when removed exposes its retaining screw.

The soft trim running down the fore and aft sides of the door opening are peeled of the retaining clips after the sill has been peeled out vertically.

The carpet can then be peeled back, exposing the foam block covering the amplifier.

Peeling back the carpet behind the passenger seat exposes a foam plug that covers a hole through which the wires pass into the trunk area.

The wall panel that covers the wheel well is retained with fasteners that have to have the center pin removed to allow the fasteners to be pulled out.

Removing the same fasteners in the panel behind the license plate allows it to move and this makes the wheel well panel easier to remove and replace.
