Limited Stereo Setup in a base model
I have a 05 base Roadster and the original sound setup is not what I expected. I don't want major modifications in my car so I was thinking on installing the limited setup. As far as know, I can keep the same head unit, just would need the amp and the 2 shallow subs. My questions:
- What else I would need? Anybody would have a list of them?
- Who sells the OEM sound parts (besides the dealers, of course)?
- Is the installation something easy to do?
I know many people do not like the limited setup either but for me it would be a major improvement already.
Thanks

So you don't have the cables for the amp and sub speakers in your car.
The plug connections for the infitinity stock amp are also very uncommon. I would not know where to get them in the aftermarket.
And if you want to buy the amp new from a dealer it's realy very expensive.
List:
Cable wiring for amp and subs
Infinity stock amp (new about 3400 USD at the dealership – no joke)
2 housings for the subs including bolts and screws
2 stock subs 6.5"
2 protective grids for the subs
Holes for the subs have to be cut in the carpet of the backplane
I would not recommend to upgrade the stereo system that way.
After some research, here is my idea:
- Head unit: Alpine iDA-x100M-320
- Amp: Alpine MRP-F300 (to be installed in the trunk)
- Keep front speakers and Tweeters. I will just use the head unit crossover and adjust the amp gain to save them.
- Sub Kicker CVT652 (6.5") to be installed in the original sub space.
My questions:
- Will the subs be a direct fit? If so, do I need the original sub housing?
- As in previous thread, who in the Detroit metro area I could trust to do the job?
Thanks
