New head unit, speakers too quiet
New head unit, speakers too quiet
First of all, hello. I purchased a XF about a month ago now ('05 roadster, manual, 11k miles) and absolutely love it (my dad has had a coupe for awhile , so it runs in the family). These forums are an invaluable resource - so thank you!
I am trying to install a new head unit (Kenwood KIV-BT900) and I think I have everything wired up correctly but for some reason I can barely hear sound from the speakers with the volume turned up all the way. It is not a problem with the car's amp, since the car does not have one (I have a standard), so I'm really not sure what's going on.
I'm using the Metra 70-1786 wiring harness (http://www.amazon.com/Metra-70-1786-...androver99-04/) as opposed to the Scosche VW01B. It appears the difference is that mine uses RCA plugs for the speakers as opposed to just crimping a wire. Could this be the problem?
Does anybody have suggestions?
Thanks in advance.
