Sony CDX-GT740UI Issues
So I just bought this new Sony CDX-GT740UI cd player, along with a shallowmount 10' box, and a shallow mount 10' Kenwood subwoofer + wiring kit for theamp, wiring harness, and to finish it off a radio adapter for the antenna.
I got everything wired except for the CD player, I am extremely confused onhow to do this/don’t even know if this is the right wiring harness to usebecause I've never had one with the co-axle cables.
Here is a picture of the wiring harness that I have, and the Sony harnessthat it attaches to. Can someone help me figure this all out? haha. The guy atthe audio store said that he is 99% sure that this wiring harness will work, because I looked at him weird because BestBuy said they didn't make a wiringharness for my car and the audio place found one apparently.

Does the wiring harness clip into the back of the head unit?
Otherwise i'd hit up Sony tech support to find the part.
I have a Sony CDX-GT530UI but took my car to a shop to get my stuff put in. All the guy needed was my head unit and the wiring harness that plugs into the back of the head unit itself. Just one clip.
I don't know if that help at all.. lol
Regards & good luck,
Eric

This is the wrong adapter if you want to connect your Sony with the stock infinity amp.
Instead of chinch outs you'll need normal wires, because the speaker outs of the radio will be connected to the infinity amp.
There are only 2 channels needed for the infinity amp.
You will need something like that, but without the plugs on the left side.
Or you can use it by cutting of the plugs on the left side and connect the wires to the plug that came with the Sony radio.

Thank you all for the support.
What I ended up doing was taking it to a friends house that has a bit more experience with wireing and he ended up splicing the co-axle cables and connecting them straight to the speaker wires.
I don't have the limited edition so I don't have the pre-installed amp.
Everything works like a charm though and sounds really great. If anyone else is interested in the Sony CDX-GT740UI cd player it works great in my crossfire roadster, just a little confusing when trying to tweek the sound to your likeing because there are a lot of options.

The 540 lets me adjust Low, Mid, High, and Sub by scrolling through the list. All of these are on a 20 point scale (-10 to +10).
I don't know how different the 740 model is, but if you have more specific questions feel free to PM me.
My main question that I've been trying to resolve is eliminating the bass in the speakers and only using the subwoofer for the bass.
If you have a way of doing that with your sony 540 could you share? Mine gets too distorted when playing anything over volume 25 because of the bass in the speakers.

I set my equalizer at -5 low, +4 mid, +2 high. Keeps most of the bass to my subs and let's me turn the volume up less for louder music. I never turn my stereo volume above 18.
Try playing with the "low" settings (mainly turning them down). Adjust the equalizer settings while listening to the same song for best results. You can always turn up just the sub with your sub controls too.
Hope this helps,
-Eric
