Default Infinity Stereo not powering on

My Infinity Stereo won't power on on my 2005 Crossfire i bought 3 weeks ago which i was hoping it was just a fuse but i cannot find a burnt fuse under the hood. Would anyone know if this a simple fix or possibly why my radio will not come on. I paid for the car in full and as is with no warranty. I really hope this won't fe a costly fix. Has anyone had this problem or similar? I love the car but i need to hears some music!!!!

I think there is a fuse in the back of the head unit (stereo) if you pull it from the dash.

When the head unit is out, you should be able to put a meter in there and see if power is getting to the unit. (of course, if there is a fuse, and it's blown, this point is mute) Good Luck

There is a 10A fuse on the back of the unit, passenger side.

"Pull it from the dash" - easily said, not easy to do unless you happens to have the correct tools.

You need the double set of DIN removers that go in the 2 little slots on the front of the head unit.
If you don't have them, but have a hacksaw, file, and tin-snips you can easily make then from 2 computer 'slot fillers' ( most everyone has some of these in a desk drawer somewhere )
NOTE: The curved part of each tool faces the inside of the slot.

Mr. 180 kindly supplied this info in a previous thread that I used to remove mine :

Anyone handy with a file can make their own with some .030" to .040" thick steel. Go to the following site and download the photo, print it out at 1:1 (full size) and use it as a template. You might spend a half hour or so making them, how hard can it be?
You only need to make two with the profile shown in the top right (or bottom left) hand corner, the width is .35" and 2" long is just fine.
The photo shows a set of keys with three different styles of key, you only need one style

If you jamb the key in and it will not come out don't blame me. I made some and they worked fine, I made them from plastic and they lasted about five minutes, but they did work.

This is probably a dead thread but just in case is there any more info available on how to use that key if I happen to find or make one?
TIA,
Barbara

You insert them into the 2 horizontal slots at the bottom of the radio with the curved part facing inwards, this forces the spring tensioned retainers inward and you can then pull the unit out with the keys.
Once you have the unit out, you can then see how to remove the keys.
You can usually find a set of universal keys at Walmart.

2 choices :
1. bigger fuse ( dangerous )
2. replace the radio, maybe time for a nicer aftermarket with bluetooth for your phone ?

I had the wires behind the stereo checked and the fuses with meter to make sure it's getting power and the man said it's getting power all the way to the unit and then it stops. I was thinking about opening up the thing and seeing if there's anything in there that says HEY just clean this area and it'll work again. But I guess that's not going to be the fix. I agree I also think it's time for a new one that will work my iPhone as well. Any ideas on a good one? I'd like it to be good sounding music for less than 500$ total installed and all. Does that even sound feasible?

$500 is waaaaaay more than feasible.
Kenwood KMR D368BT is only $99 on Amazon :
Amazon Amazon

You will need a Volkswagen conversion wiring adapter and an antenna adapter.

Hi I'm curious why I need a conversion Volkswagen adapter and the antenna adapter? I'm curious if the new antenna I screwed into my car a few week so ago could have caused a problem.
I should probably say what car I have huh. I have a 2008 convertible with the infinity stereo with navigation.

No way the antenna made the radio not power up, or blow it's fuse.
