Second, I already installed a second 12V plug in that location....
I sitll could have probably fit the USB in there though so If i had to do it over I probably would try to do that....

I Guess 32GB is probably overkill but considering my first USB drive I bought many moons ago (4MB) was over $100, I just couldnt pass up this much space with a price tag of only $45!

Or maybe it is bad and its just the luck of the draw. Figured with Amazon's return policy it was worth a shot...
Mine worked without issue though, right out of the package...
I agree the reviews are bad though so buyer beware!
I know this message thread is kind of old now, but I really appreciate the fact you posted it, Daniel454!
I was just looking into options for switching out this factory radio, and I kept coming back to this same Clarion NZ501 as what seems like the best value for the dollar, with the features I'm after.
I don't think I'll go to the trouble to run a USB extension to a socket near the shifter, like you did, though. On my Jeep, I had a JVC double-DIN navigation stereo and to avoid the annoyance of a USB memory stick jutting straight out of the head-unit, I simply located some ultra low-profile USB sticks for it instead. My local Micro Center store had the 8GB version for around $15, and I see a 16GB version is now available online through a few places like NewEgg too. When you plug one of these in, it barely sticks out any further than the USB socket itself. You have to grab little "tabs" on each side of it with 2 fingernails to pull it back out.
Could you clarify which harness to order if our factory stereo is the Infinity model with the navigation? I'm still new to the Crossfire and when I look up stereo harnesses for it, I get some different options offered without much explanation. (I don't want to do any special running of wires straight to the amp under the passenger seat or any of that, if I can avoid it. Just looking for more of a "plug and play" solution, hopefully.)

Happy to help!
The harness you need is: Metra 70-1786
$12.00 on Amazon.com. It lists for other cars but it will work. You do not have to split out and wire in anything at the factory amp, I did so because I wanted seperate controls for the rear speakers but straight connection will work fine and have the same controls as the factory (left and right only).
The only part that is a bit tricky is that illumination wire, read above posts in regards to that, you wont be able to use the wire in the harness but rather will need to use the 12V going to the ash tray bulb to get it to work properly, or just leave it disconnected altogether and set the unit to the brightness setting manually.

It does wire in to the factory amp without issue, I chose to use the RCA line outputs and to add a seperate wire for the rear speakers but that is not required. Many other threads on here give a lot more info on the actual wiring side, this one is not much different than other models in that area (other than the before mentioned illumination wire)
Sorry, it was bought almost 4 years ago... At that time it was available everywhere... Fairly certain the wife got it from Amazon.... Looks discontinued now and Google isn't showing any from the major retailers.
May be out of luck now, maybe watch eBay?

You just missed FOUR of them that sold on E-Bay this month. Set up a search on E-Bay and you'll find one soon . . .
