Default What AMP SHOULD I GET???

Hey guys, 20 year old newbie here. Sold my Cobalt SS and got my 05 coupe with 48,200 miles for a great price in my opinion. QUESTIONS: What kind of amp do i need to power the 2 speakers, 2 tweeters, 2 subs in the stock location, and headunit. These are all AFTERMARKET products that I bought. I just need to know the KIND of amp I need. Mono, 4/3, etc. and how many watts. Thanks guys I really appreciate any help I can get!

1) Did your Crossfire still have the factory amp installed when you purchased it?

2) Did you hook up your aftermarket headunit to the OEM harness using the amplfied output?

3) When you installed the aftermarket speakers in the OEM locations, did you use the factory wires/harness connectors?

4) Does your headunit have pre-amp outs for front/rear/subwoofer?

I have not installed anything yet, I am just purchasing the equipment first. The car is completely stock as of now and I have the base model, so there aren't any rear subs, as I'm sure you are aware

So your starting with a clean slate... and can do whatever you want..

There are some great threads on how to pull/route power to your amp.

Where do you plan to mount the AMP? Under the DS floorboard or in the trunk area? Make sure to impedance match the amp to the speakers.

If you are going to mount the subs behind the seat, then you may be limited to 6.5" "fee air" subs - so you might not need a dedicated subwoofer amp, perhaps a just four channel amp with X-over/bass boost to power the subs?

I think I saw a thread where a member chopped up the area behind the seats and fabricated in a pair of 8" enclosed subs... if you do that - then you might need a dedicated 2 channel subwoofer amp properly power them.

Money, skill and mounting locations are your only limitations....

I already bought 6.5 free air subs, the headunit, and the speakers and tweeters a few days ago, so I'm good there. I am going to use the 4/3channel 600watt amp I took out of my cobalt and use it in the car. So problem solved. HOWEVER, MAIN QUESTION!!! THERE ARE DEFINITELY THE TWO HOLES BEHIND THE SEATS FOR THE 6.5 SUBS TO FIT INTO EVEN THOUGH I HAVE THE BASE MODEL RIGHT???? I went feeling around today without taking the carpet off and everything felt pretty solid, so I wasn't sure. But I thought the base models still had the holes available.

Yes the hole should be there, however, unless I am mistaken; the brackets are not. You will have to either get some brackets or have some made up for the rear subs.

As for amp location, I put mine behind the passenger seat. It's a 2 channel 1000 watt Diesal Audio amp, I actually have it bolted to the back just under where the stock subwoofer is (I have the infinity system) it actually works really well there because the passenger can come all the way back and it doesn't impede anything because it goes in the swell of the seat. Just my two cents, there are a ton of articles on here though so check those out.

Also if you don't mind me asking, what kind of 6.5" free air subs did you get? What's the brand / model"?

ok I'm just making sure and I bought the KICKER 10-CVT65-4 6-1/2" CompVT SHALLOW MOUNT SUB WOOFER CVT 4-OHM 6.5" 10CVT654. Kicker shallow mounts seem to be the prefferred choice on here from what I have seen
