Default Odometer strange problem - please help

Hi all,
I noticed that my odometer has a strange behiavour(both odometersartial and total). It seems that, even if the speedometer is working correctly, is not writing km correctly: every 10 km my odometer "lose" 4 km more or less, in other words if I reset the odometer and drive 10 km on my CC the odometer will show 6km at the end
Btw I noticed that 10/6 is more or less the km/mph conversion and it is like my odometer is showing miles instead of kmh, even if "kmh" is shown on it...maybe it is not related just guessing...
I own a CC since 3 years and I never noticed that, but probably it has been there since the beginning; I bought my CC used so maybe it could be that the auto dealer did some "trick" on it anyway now it is too late to complain about it.
I already search on the forum and I didn't find anything, do you have some suggestion?
Sorry for my bad english, thanks.

It sounds llike you odometer is registering in miles, not kilometers.
1 Kilometer = .63 miles.

I forgot to tell that I already go to official chrysler dealer, he told me has no clue about the problem and that he tested the "speed sensor" that is working(as a proof he said the speedometer is working, so the sensor is not the problem he said)...he just told me that if I want to fix it I need to change the whole piece (1200€)

Weil it sounds the same to me but then:
1.Why is it showing "kmh"?
2.How can I fix it?

The car can be changed to read in kilometers or miles. Mine reads in miles as it is a US car, The speedometer reads in mph and kph. Depending on the market the car was sold with the dial in heavy type in miles or kilometers and smaller type in the opposite.
It is possible you have a dial in kilometers but the programming for the electronics has been done in miles?
The needle movement is not affected just the trip and mileage gage.
If so it can be reprogrammed to kilometers.

Yes I think this could be possible, I didn't do anything but it could have been done in the past.
So what should I do do reprogram to km?Should I go to Chrysler dealer or can I do it by myself? And if I go to dealer what should I tell(it seems that my dealer it is not a very expert one....)?
Thanks

It needs to be done on the dealer computer if he has the one for the Crossfire.

Hi epig, onehundred80 is exactly correct. I had the same issue with mine that you are having. Speedo was displaying in KPH fine. Odomoter showed a number that I thought was KM but I noticed the incorrect increments like you have and I did the calculations and it was actually incrementing in miles even though the trip meter showed a little LCD KM beside it both the odometer and trip meter were incrementing in miles even though speedo was KPH. took to Chrysler dealer, they plugged it into computer and set odometer to km and trip to km and instantly I had a much higher mileage car than I had originally thought I had bought but at least things are displaying and incrementing correctly now. Weird thing is mine was never a USA car so I don't know how this could have ever happened, must have been incorrect from the factory and no one ever noticed, either that or one of the previous owners may have intentionally done it to increase resale value representing it with lower KM.

Thanks, that was my thought: that the previous owner has changed it to increase resale value.
