2005 Roadster. Several months ago radio became eratic and now no audio. The panel shows stations and station selection and program info but audio became eratic to the point that there was nothing. Purchased used radio via eBay which I received today. Same problem. No audio altho again stations appear etc. same as I've describe above. Could there be a problem with the wiring harness?? I haven't a clue. Thanks in advance for your help.

 

There is a central amplifier under the passenger floor.

I'd have to say your amp is probably headed south with having replaced the headunit .. $75 on ebay on a good day.. $150 - $200 most of the time.. might even try car parts.com

Guess I should have just typed amp and hit submit.. LOL

 

Thanks all, it was the amp. Now I have two radios. One for the driver and one for the pax.
