Default Radio code

Preparing my Crossfire roadster for reluctant sale and found that I do not have the key code for the standard radio unit that is fitted. Maybe a minus point when it come to advertising it so would like to sort it. Any recommendations on how to get the code?

That involves removing the radio which I do not have the tools to do. Do they charge for the info they give you and how can you know it is correct? I know that trying the wrong code too many times will lock the unit completely.......

The OEM Becker does not have a code, I and many others have taken the radio out and stored it for years with no loss of its use. It is Plug and Play.

The radio is asking for a code. While the vehicle was parked up in storage the battery had lost its power. Battery now charged and car operating properly except for the radio. The handbook mentions a code but unfortunately previous owners have mislaid the all important card bearing the code.

Where in the handbook does it mention a code?
Are you sure it is the original radio.

It clearly mentions the ode in the handbook for the stereo system. It is original fitment stereo, Becker Infinity.

No radio code is required for the OEM infinity.

Unfortunately, I cannot provide a solution to your problem just an explanation to the confusion. It's my understanding the Crossfire radios in US do not have lock codes. I've personally bought two spare radios which I tested when I received them, and they were plug and play with no codes required. I believe you are in the UK and I've heard Crossfire radios in the UK require codes.

This comes up ever now and then here.

I think "toolman" nailed it, I just have no idea what the answer is.

And I might add that the lady in the link has a charming accent. ( At least for me, I suppose when people there are viewing it ( or Dave ), she doesn't have an accent. )

Managed to resolve this. I was told that if I had the radio serial number (which is on the rear of the radio) then I would be able to obtain the code. From eBay I bought the special keys to remove rather radio, the keys cost me less than £2. When I removed the radio I was very lucky to find the the code had actually been written on a label attached to the top of gage radio. Problem solved, code recorded and radio now decoded and fully operational.
