You need to get 'becker' radio removal keys common to Mercedes and VW. You will insert the keys into the 2 slots on the bottom left and bottom right of the faceplate. You can ask around at local shops if anyone has the keys or order some online. With the keys, it literally slides right out....

Make a set the same size as the template in the following post.

Are you in the UK, there is mention that those ones need a code key?

My UK SRT6 Sound Systems Manual mentions a sticker on the radio that is to be stuck in the manual and kept for use when resetting the radio in the event of a power failure.

Maybe they stuck the label on the radio or in the Owners manual, lets face it if you stuck it in the book and someone stole the book as well they would have been thinking ahead.

North American radios do not need the code. The responders in the thread that is mentioned were new members at that time or were in error.

I made a set out of the slot filler things that are in most old PC's.
Anyone that has added a card to a PC has some laying around, they are strong and the correct thickness.
( and the 90 degree bend makes a good pull handle )

Roy, where will you be getting the code from, once you have the serial number? I have the same issue......
