Default RAP - Retained Auxilliary Power

I have seen mention that the XF has RAP but when I turn the key off with the doors shut, my 07 Limited Coupe shuts down the radio and everything. Is this normal or is there a way to turn the RAP on ?

Within 3 seconds of turning the ignition OFF, pressing the radio ON button the radio will stay on.
Pressing the radio ON button without the ignition turned ON will operate the radio, but it will turn off in one hour sooner if it senses the battery is getting too weak.

The REST system also works without the key in the ignition.

Obviously some other systems are not shut down entirely when the key is turned to OFF or there would be no battery drain. The designers of the electrical system will have to take the RAP i
f the system lacks what is otherwise wanted.

Guess I am used to my other cars (Buicks, Jeep) that do not turn the accessory pwoer off until I open the door and thinggs like the radio and the power windows continue to work until a door is opened.

The XF is just enough different (I like the cruise control) from the other cars to be noticable.

ps found nothing in the owner's manual about retained power.
