Default Standard automotive 4-pin relay... trigger with 2.5v?

Hey guys - so I am really trying to get my push button start working the way I *want* it to. Everything is fine, but I need to be able to send 12v to the module whenever the clutch is engaged as the unit will not make any changes (turn off car) if the clutch signal is not detected.

I have a 2.5v steady voltage when the clutch is pressed in.

I need to feed 12v based on that. 2.5v will not power a standard automotive relay.

I tried a 611T solid state switch, however it functions differently - 2.5v does activate it, but it switches the 12v on and off each time you press the clutch -- not 12v on when you press and 12v off when you release.

Any ideas? Suggestions (other than solder my keyed ignition back in lol)

Do you think 2.5v is enough to close the contacts on a 5v PC board relay? Just an idea.

Possibly. I found this on EBay and ordered. I'll post back if successful. Can control 5-200vdc from a 3-?vdc trigger. 2.5v might do it.

I would be concerned about that specification of 50/60 HZ in the specs if this is REALLY a DC-DC relay.

Its been a while but maybe this'll trigger a thought (pun intended)... Use a latching relay from your trigger voltage, when you release the clutch the relay latches until the next input from the trigger voltage, it'll then 'deactivate' Or am I not understanding your needs??. Maybe? I hate forgetting basic electronics.....
