I just installed a sony 7710 stereo, but I am getting no sound from the CD...

The tuner works fine and gets sound, but when I put a CD in, the screen plays the cd info and has time scrolling, but there is no sound?

Did I miss a wire somewhere? Only thing I can see on the plug is the car end has a green/white wire that I have nothing connecting to. The adapter has a brown wire there, but no label for it on the bag.

HELP!! Called sony and 45minutes got me "go to crutchfield.com" even though I didn't get it from there.

theres a remote wire thats needed to the amp on when the head unit is powered. It should be a blue wire coming out of the head unit that is labeled "remote turn-on", "external amp", or similar. that blue wire should be connected to the amplifier turn-on wire. did you buy the Scosche VW01 wiring harness adapter?

sounds like you connected the car's amp turn-on wire to the Sony's ANTENNA wire instead of the REMOTE wire.

 

yup.... went by sonys directions that said to use that one for the rear window antenna, and that I didn't need the other one..... switched them and it works now...
