Chrysler Crossfire Double Din Kit Ready For Production
Nothing I have found works easily. This is a deficiency with the AOZ kit. We have it in two cars. One car I fabricated brackets. The other I took a standard double DIN cage, shimmed it it pine wood (mixing sticks, actually), and ran screws through the cage and the shims to get the cage centered properly and secure. Both methods wound up working. The whole thing would have been 100x sinplere if AOZ had made a flange part of the plastic piece.
One of the radios came with a thin black bezel. The other didn't, but I was able to find a generic one on Amazon. I bought one, and just a couple of minutes with a Dremel tool, and I was in business.
you're going to need to look at your radio, and be sure a generic cage will fit it, provided one did not come with the radio (most do). As for the bezel, you'll want to install, and then see how wide and what type you might want. As far as that goes, I imagine each radio will be a little different. The good news is that they are cheap.
The aperture should have its top the same distance from the top as the single DIN is. The aperture should fit the trim ring that comes with the radio, they are probably all the same size or there would be trouble with cars that originally came with 2 x DIN head units. The cages should fit no problem. My cage screws directly to the shelf above the radio no problem, the shelf below the OEM 1 x DIN radio is removed flush to the wall of the console. The aperture in this printed bezel is too large as the cage flanges should fit against the inner aperture flange.
My 2 x DIN radio fits like a glove, I made the parts by modifying two OEM radio bezels and attached the switch part of the bezel to take the place of the ashtray module. I have yet to paint it or the bezel of a different design yet, I do not rush these things and spend more time thinking about the job. I have spent two years trying to match the silver paint. 🙄

Old thread but I hope I have as much luck as others with the aoz kit. Just ordered it. Didnt realize they were overseas till I completed the order
Hope it doesnt take a long time to get here with the covid crud.
That thing was expensive but I guess its small production numbers and all.

But you do end up with a part that fits the radio cage and radio surround. I enjoyed it so much I made two versions.🙄
If you think $330 is expensive you should try making one from used OEM parts and fitting the parts together. Good used faceplates (2) one of which has to have the switches in it still are not cheap, you have to make the part that goes around the gearshift. Modify the gearshift bezel to accept the passenger seat belt light and the lighter socket takes time and patience. I kept the original parts just in case I screwed up and also it can go back to the original Navigation radio and ashtray.

It didnt cost me that much for an alcantara shift boot, illuminated leather shift ****, shifter linkages and center console top for one of my bmw cars and all parts were new. So yes 3 pieces of silver plastic for $404.68 is expensive. I didnt say ridiculous but it does qualify as expensive.
All total for the kit, radio, etc it set me back north of $1200. But if it all works out its worth it having nav, front and rear cameras, hands free phone and stuff.
I need to see what size the door speakers are since I have a set of jl audio c3 component speakers I never installed laying around. They are 6.5" woofers but I dont remember the tweeter size.
On something like that base it off what it cost for replacement dash panel parts for my vette, various bmw's and my trucks.

I think the part was not thought out right and it needs a lip for the cage. I am not to sure of the fit either.
I could just buy the OEM parts and the extra plastic required for $400 for my set, but it fit the radio with no mods, just four screws to hold the cage to the main console.
I like the looks of all the sets. .I may tackle this come spring, still trying to get my R170 off jack stands! LoL Happy New Year! GG in TN
Oh well I guess it will be warm weather at least when it gets here
I need to rig up a test setup for the radio I bought to make sure it works now so I can return it if it has any issues. But I dont drive the car so the waits not really a big deal I guess.
