Default Anybody have any experience with Lojack?

I have a draw I can't find that I think may be related to a Lojack that was installed back in 04. From what I understand the system has a backup battery that will ultimately fail and can cause a draw. I have an intermittent draw in the security wiring and suspect that is where they tied the Lojack in to for power. I have had the left and right side of the dash apart as well as both sides of the truck and still haven't seen anything. Lojack is no help, to get it removed I have to reactivate it, pay for service call, the pay the 125 bucks an hour to find it and take it out, seems like a scam for a car that is basically of no interest to most thieves and I live in an area that doesn't support Lojack. Any hints appreciated, I've googled this every way I can think of with minimal success. I have seen photos of the box so I kinda know what I'm looking for. Thanks!

If you find anything out, please share it. I have a 13 year old Lojak in my car and I'm sure I will be up against this also. I wish I wouldn't have wasted the money when I bought the car because we can not even bypass the security system ourselves. Wish I would have known.

The idea of Lojack when the car was new is fine, I just don't care for being held hostage by them. Amazing I can buy a new module and keys by walking in the dealer and presenting my ID and registration but the same will not release their bond. I will NEVER buy another used car that I believe to have a Lojack in it. I've looked under the dash on both sides, in the front and rear pillars and in each rear fender and in the well where the door lock module is at. I guess the kickpanels are next. Any info appreciated, even if it is what system they were using in 04. Mine also has the fob system that alerts you if it moves without the fob present.

I tried for hours to find out information about these things. They are so damn tight-lipped about their system and keep everything very close to themselves. Seems the only way to get rid of them is to challenge their legality that they are holding ppl hostage after the original owner sells the vehicle. Lojack should be forced to release to a current registered owner, the details of the specific installation (to the point of a buy-back of their system).

This gave me a chuckle, they don't want you to know where it is in case you get carjacked and the carjacker tries to force you to tell them where it is. I wonder what the stats are on Crossfire carjackings in the last 5 years???? I hate to characterize it as a scam but...well, it seems like an unfair situation. I have noticed there is an astounding shortage of data, almost like they scrub the net.
