Good idea, remember the back of the ashtray has to be cut off to clear the head unit as they are at different angles, when it is cut off you lose the opening and closing spring and latch - see my photo below. I had to add the magnetic catch, it needs cleaning up but you get the idea.

Hoping to sort out the heated seat switches via the additional 2 positions on the shifter surround in the place of the extra power window switches in the pictures. Also note the addition of the passenger air bag indicator light. This is no where near a perfect install, but more of a "test fit" in my already hacked up parts car interior to see if any further modifications are in order.

Thanks for the kind comments, I still have to sort out where to place the 12 volt outlet.

Build it and enjoy it now rather that waiting for something that may never happen.

speed wins. If these are going to be an option start making and selling them. Waiting for a group buy has been tried here before and not always with great results
ie AMG Style rocker panels.

Many people lost $$$$ on that one, and a few ended up with egg on their faces, when a Home Depot L bracket can be suggested as a way to hold them on you should know that it’s hopeless.
Some did get the parts and put them on but UrbanE’s method put them to shame. If you want them modify the OEM ones.
