Default Room to mount amplifier behind seat?

I have been searching for this info and cannot find it... I know the fuel tank is behind the seats, so I don't plan to put speakers there. However, I would like to mount the huge amp behind the passenger seat if possible. I checked and see that I do have enough physical room, so my question is this: How much space is between the metal behind the seat and the fuel tank? Is there enough room to get screws into that wall to mount the amp, or does the fuel tank sit directly against that wall?

There is not enough room behind the seat for an amp

You can install the amp in the same location as the factory amp

Also there is not enough space to drill through the firewall. The stock amp is under the carpet on the passenger side in front of the seat.

In a Roadster, you can mount the amp in the compartment the top stores in. Robert McCubbin carries a LOT of tools back there, in cases that are fastened to the bulkhead.
There is a LOT of room around the stored top you can mount stuff! I have my WindRestricter Lighting control box mounted there...

(I hate how BIG the photo displays.....)

I had a skat skv2-1500.1 and a mb quart 1500.2 behind passenger seat of my coupe.

Question should be, different ways to mount amp.

I had mine hang from 12ga solid wire from under plastic bulkhead cap down to amp, about 12 or 15" long (give or take a foot lol)

Find a good velcro that will stick to the carpet, to put on back of amp

Many different ways.

Lots of air behind seat with windows down, to keep the big amps cool.

Thanks! I didn't even consider it, but am definitely going to use Velcro for the amp. Great idea!
