Default Jensen MPR419Q Perfect Radio Option

Just picked up this radio from Amazon
HERE HERE

Best $79.00 aftermarket investment for todays day and age without a double din screen etc.

All the other radios that have touch screens etc, the screens block the environmental controls and are very inconvenient. This unit fits with todays QI charging phones and the Jlink app is connecting every time without any work needed to adjust.

The QI charging panel that comes out fits perfectly down AFTER you get the car going. When the car is in park the panel wont drop down all the way. Get the matching antenna and wire harness adaptors do your splicing , download the Jlink app connect the radio via Bluetooth and TADA!!! The microphone is a touch weak, so speak up. Siri and Google will do just fine since you are using the phone instead of the head unit. No specials mirror link to configure etc.

Getting out of the car taking your phone is easy. Pop it out of the clamp , push down the panel stop and hit close. When you get back in the car, the Jlink app will reconnect you right where you left off.

Pics all below.

It's crap: It doesn't say "JVC" or "Kenwood" on it.

My JVC was, just saying, $85. That proves it: Ya gotta pay BIG BUCKS for good stuff, right?

@pizzaguy Yeah your right do they still even make JVC and Kenwood ? Ahh the days when I sold car radios and cared more about the name etc ..etc.. Now its about does the damn thing work....YES.. Great.. can I afford to buy a Windblade also because my radio is not so damn expensive... SWEET!!!

Yes this upgrade, Plus a add on rearview camera mirror, and windblade and then just an CB /FRS radio for The Dragon and the electronics are done, Then we are back to fixing the high beams, heated seats, and door locks..

They sure do make JVC and Kenwood consumer products, as well as communications, medical and audio-visual. JVC and Kenwood merged back in, oh, 2014-5. I will never forget that merger, cause I lost some of my travel reimbursement but picked up better health/optical/dental insurance. Also, the new HR lady I gained was AWESOME.

I think the Kenwood and JVC consumer/auto lines will eventually merge, but so far, they are separate entities at the consumer level, they are not so separate at the corporate level in that they joined forces to make a better impact in the OEM auto market. Oddly, some new cars are coming with JVC/Kenwood sound systems, but the agreement is that the auto maker can claim the system is their design, so some of their sales are 'invisible'.

I recommend a GMRS/FRS setup, not the CB/FRS route. I know that having a CB in there from time to time can be a helpful item, but GMRS radios really work a lot better. I hope to have maybe a dozen more Kenwood GMRS radios by the time midsummer gets here. If not, the Midland MXT105 (or even 115) are good options.

SEE YOU THIS FALL!
