Re: Factory antenna base and wiring
Here ya go, I have two spares. (I'm working at modding one into an FRS/GMRS antenna and will mount it on the passenger side.)
The square (power) plug has only one wire, but is a two-conductor connector.
SOMEWHERE on this forum a contributor linked to new ones for sale on eBay, that was a few years ago but not THAT long ago.

Re: Factory antenna base and wiring
I use a TRAM dual band for GMRS and NOAA channels on 162mHz. Magnetic mount annoys me, so I'm going with an attempt to build a 1/4 wave at 460 with the Crossfire antenna. I've got to gut it as there is a preamp in there, and I'll have less performance, but most of the time, we are talking less than 1/4 mile anyway.
I run a Kenwood NX5800 with HandHeld head combined with a wired boom mic and PTT on the shift. I'm licensed as WR8Y but not active.

that Kenwood mic/control is pretty slick! Im not a fan of mag mounts on these cars.. theres NO PLACE to put them... Ill probably end up just using an HT with the head set /mic while driving... easier than trying to install any kind of antenna... im KB8VMO...
