I fixed my seat problem a long time ago and I made a .pdf file showing what I did. My trouble was a failed diode which only allowed the seat to move fore and aft with the door open. I found a diode which had failed so I replaced it. This is not the solution in many cases, I would buy a new solenoid if the diodes were OK. The PDF shows the Siemens part number, which is on your solenoid as well.
Here is the .PDF CLICK

If your good to moderate with a soldering iron should be very easy. The relay itself is located on the inside firewall (if I remember correctly) and towards the center of the car. You can do it, many have. Good luck!

Checked connections and diode function (to the best of my ability) and nothing found, but there is a sign of some 'trauma' between the soldered pins, 4th from left and 5th from left, along the bottom as pictured above. On the opposite side there appears to be evidence of the plastic melting local to this. Not massively conclusive, but enough to invest in a replacement relay.
