When the factory siren goes bad, and removed, what has anyone replaced it with? I surely wouldn't buy an original used one! Not trying to get crazy expensive replacement. Have any installation pictures to share?
I bought a replacement from FCP Euro in Sept of 2021; It's working fine today. Number Mercedes 219820322664 Manufacture Bosch # F005V00818. It is used on 308 Mercedes models up to 2012. It has the beeps when you lock the car. It hasn't been laying on a shelf for the past twenty years as that Mercedes number is a replacement number for the original AND it is plug and play. If you purchase from FCO Euro it has lifetime replacement. I put it on my SRT6 as that car only has 16,000 miles and I try to keep it nice for car shows. The Limited I have has been without a siren for ten years 180,000 miles and I have no problem with that either.
I guess it is how bad do you want a siren. Mercedes still has them, but asking about $170. Maybe partsgeek or pelican, but probably is running out of stock as the last model using them was made ten years ago.
Sucks to get old!
Ronmad there is a PDF file in the electric section of onehundred80 "Index of Crossfire problems and repairs" where you cut the siren open and replace the internal batteries. That is dependent on the circuit board being good and not damaged by corrosion. Click here for listing: electric section siren repair

My internals are ruined from battery leakage. Be nice if some enterprising person could / would come up with a retrofit for the siren! I'm sure there are a lot of Crossfire owners out there that would be willing to spend for a reasonable priced plug and play siren.
Even if they get into the car it would be "very" difficult for them to steal the vehicle. I want to scare them away before they get inside and steal it's contents. Of course there is always smash the glass and grab what's inside. A lot of Florida residents now legally carry firearms inside their cars!

That could lead to a shootout at the Okokefenokee corral.
