Default Audio Amp and suggestions

Hi all,

My Roadster's aftermarket radio has all of a sudden stopped working. There is no sound output. The unit comes on and all buttons work but no sound. All fuses are good. At the radio head I've checked power, ground, amp power (blue wire). I haven't checked anything at the amp yet but it would seems that the amp has stopped working. Since I am probably going to replace the amp I'd really like to hear any suggestions you may have. I really don't want to do any heavy modifications. Thanks for any ideas!

Thanks Dennis,

I pulled the amp to check for power / grounds and at Pin 5 of the Amp A connector I have 6.2 volts and I have good grounds on Pins 4 & 11, so I'm pretty sure the amp is NG. If I replace it with a high quality aftermarket unit how do you deal with the connectors on Amp B Pin 2 for Power Top Status Signal and Pin 3 for Wheel Speed Sensor Output??

Thanks!

I had a similar problem once, turned out to be a blown fuse I missed. Double-check those maybe?

The wheel speed sensor input is to increase your audio level when speeding up. Most after market amps do not have this, so you leave it disconnected.
Same goes for the power top status - it also triggers a volume increase when the top is down AND the car is moving. You probably won't have such inputs on an aftermarket amp. I know I didnt.
