Hello! I have a question about the stereo in my Crossfire. I prefer the look of the OEM radio / CD player, and have seen many of them for sale online. However, I would really like to have bluetooth capability as well. Is it possible to add bluetooth connectivity to the OEM stereo, and if so, what parts would I need, and how readily available are they today? Thank you in advance for any helpful responses! 😀

I forget if it was Valk or Pizzaguy who advised a new Crossfire owner not to be put off by
all the car problems in the Forum.
They said to keep in mind that the vast majority of Crossfires are trouble free with the proper maintenance .
It is the cars that have problems that you see on the forum.

There is a place near me called Becker Audio. I was going to have them rebuild my radio. They said they could upgrade the components and add bluetooth for around $350.00.
I ended up getting a Kenwood marine radio for about $125.00.

I installed the same unit as M60A3 ... got mine from Crutchfield ... they also have a harness that makes the whole process a lot easier

 

Power acoustic has one it also has wireless car play. Aka Bluetooth.
I recently took mine out though because I personally prefer double din units
it doesn’t have the cd option though

I too installed the Kenwood KMR-. I like it because you an change the color to match the green of the rest of the dashboard. Has BT phone and for siriusXM or spotify from my phone. BTW I do not have a CD player in my

I had this one installed by another Crossfire owner here.
He installed it with some custom wiring to use all 4 channels of our OEM amplifier.
It allows you to use the fader for front and back as well as left / right balance.
It does have Bluetooth and allows your phone to connect for calls and streaming music.
I primarily like to stream Amazon Music from my phone using this stereo.

 

If your old radio is working you can keep it and just buy one of those bluetooth receiver/FM transmitters that plug into the cigarette lighter. That's what I use.

 

alpine is a great radio.
I removed the factory amplifier and added a new one in it’s place along with new wiring to the rear and the doors everything is reversible so in case I ever decide to sell it to return it back to factory.

 

Honestly, returning the sound system back to factory is not doing the new buyer any favors. But, many insist on it.

The stupid two-channel head that our cars came with was WAY out of date in 2004, my 2005 Ford Ranger base model had four channel sound in it.
I think it's obscene they sold a $40,000 sports car in 2005 with two channel sound.

 

I mean Yes/No. If I decide to pull the system out before selling it it makes it much easier. Especially since I kept everything and nothing was wrong with it and if they want to upgrade then they don’t have to deal with the headaches of running new wires since it will be left behind. Even the exhaust and the secondary cats are kept and cut in places where it can easily be returned to stock.

but yes you are correct. It’s very outdated especially for the era. Even Kia and cheaper vehicles were more modern in that aspect
